“O Magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together!”
A Word from our Worship Pastor, Stephen Wells:
I really appreciate you taking your time and acquiring more information on the Worship Ministry. First things first: What is Worship? Simply put, worship is our expression of worth to whom or what we deem worthy. Worship can be a great thing or not such a great thing. Here at FBC, we strive to declare the worth of our Great God. We echo the Psalmist and cry out, “ I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised!” In light of this truth, we worship the Lord not just in musical ways but with our entire lives. Our corporate time of worship is just an overflow of our personal lives of worship to Him. It’s our desire to lift up the name of Jesus Christ, the only one worthy of our praise, so that He may inhabit the praise of His people.
Worship Ministry Areas of Opportunity:
- Adult Choir
Rehearsals are at 4:30 on Sunday afternoons. The Choir sings weekly, playing a key role in our services. The year is packed with special preparations for seasonal celebrations such as Easter and Christmas. The suggested time to join the choir would be from August-October or January-March. Striving to be a “Worship-Leading Choir,” the choir is regarded as a high calling and we encourage prospective members to really pray to see if God is leading them into this incredible area of ministry.
- Youth Choir
Rehearsal is at 5:30 pm on Wednsesday nights. This choir is for 7 - 12 graders.
- Children’s Choir
There’s a Choir for all ages! Pre-School Choir: “Wee Praise” and our Children's Choir (1st-6th grades). All are Wenesdays at 6:30 pm.
- Special Music
Special music is a musical offering provided by an individual or small group before the Pastor’s message.
- Audio/Visual Ministry
This incredibly important area is the behind the scenes backbone to every service. Lighting, sound board, video and other projection needs is just to name a few areas that this ministry entails.
